How to find us:

Student Advice is located in the Cornerstone Building. Our reception desk is immediately on the left-hand side as you walk in the main entrance to the building.

From the main carpark, follow the white canopy as if walking to Newport. The Cornerstone Building is the last building on the left.

If entering campus from the Newport entrance, the Cornerstone Building will be on the right.

About Student Advice

BGU Student Advice's services operate on a professional, non-judgemental and confidential basis. Our team will handle any information you disclose in an appropriate and sensitive way, in accordance with data protection legislation.

We have a wealth of experience of assisting students in higher education and we are committed to the continual development of our skills and resources.

BGU's Student Advice Team provides the following range of services, offering advice and guidance to prospective and current students:

Accessibility: for students with disabilities, specific learning differences, mental health conditions and other access needs
Advice: providing generalist welfare advice and specialising in money advice
Counselling: available via an independent private practice to ensure confidentiality and discretion
Funding: including the BGU Learning Fund and BGU Bursary - as well as expert advice and guidance regarding student loans and grants
Mental Health: advice, self-help information and links to NHS partners to support students’ mental health needs
Care Experienced Students: support for students from care

Student Carers: support for students who provide unpaid support for a friend or family member who due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction cannot cope without their support

In 2022, Student Advice's MatrixQuality Standard was renewed. The following strengths were identified:
