Dr Smaragda Kampouri joined Bishop Grosseteste University in 2016 from the University of Essex, where she worked as an EAP Lecturer. She graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece and then continued her studies at Essex University where she acquired an MA in English for Specific Purposes (2009) and a PhD in English Language Teaching (2014). Her research interests include English for Academic Purposes, Legal English, Teacher cognition in ESL/EAP/ESP classrooms and Learner and Teacher Anxiety. Smaragda has worked as a Teaching Assistant in Linguistics in the UK and as an EAP Lecturer in the UK and Greece.
