The Senate is Bishop Grosseteste University’s highest academic body, and is responsible to the University Council for overseeing and advising on all matters relating to academic policy, strategy and planning including:
- teaching and learning
- the academic portfolio
- the content of the curriculum
- the assessment of students
- student admissions
- progress and awards
The Senate is responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of the quality and standards of all academic provision and for the confirmation of the adequacy of the resources needed for its support.
