Through the Graduate Skills Builder programme students have the opportunity to work in multi-disciplinary teams to complete real-world challenges set by businesses. The project aims to showcase the range of opportunities available within Lincolnshire and to promote a better understanding of the transferable skills students gain during their time at University.
Becky Goodman, Programme Leader for Business at BGU, shared her delight at seeing students continuing to actively engage with businesses despite the current lockdown:
“It has been great to see our learners engage with businesses and organisations across Lincolnshire to use their expertise to benefit the local economy. Projects were undertaken with a wide range of employers including Lindum, Batemans Brewery and the local authority, and students worked as teams to undertake research into a variety of business scenarios and challenges, from investigating how training could be moved online to developing a plan to reinvigorate the local high street.
These projects have been undertaken remotely throughout Lockdown and the groups have worked hard to undertake research remotely and adapt their recommendations in light of the current climate. The groups have worked online using apps such as Trello, Slack, Zoom and MS Teams to support their projects and have thrived in a digital environment.”
The BA (Hons) Business provides an abundance of practical experiences, and students work with live project briefs to build an array of modern business skills throughout their degree.
