This day course offers visual, auditory, social and behavioural strategies for teaching and support staff working with learners with Autism, Asperger Syndrome (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactive (Impulse) Disorder (ADHD).
During attendance on this course you will learn how to enable successful inclusion of individuals and groups whilst fully meeting the needs of their peers.
You will be given a brief overview of the impairments affecting learning with Autism, Aspergers and ADHD. The course will include an examination of the root causes and triggers behind negative behaviour and how to identify and avoid them. You will look at co-morbidity, and consider the existence of two or more conditions in learners. You will learn about the type of language and presentation suitable for the needs of learners with ADHD. The day will involve looking at case studies and carrying our workshop activities.
