Are you a senior manager who wants to develop your knowledge and skills to Masters level or are looking to progress into a senior management role in the near future? This course allows you to work towards being a leader who has senior management responsibility, including formal governance/director responsibilities.

You may be responsible for direction and vision, providing a clear sense of purpose and driving strategic intent. You may take into account market trends and environmental influences, identifying longer-term opportunities and risks. Through inclusive leadership, you may be responsible for developing ethical, innovative and supportive cultures with the ability to deliver results. You may be a role model, with responsibility for those in senior positions/significant organisational budgets.

About this course

Within this apprenticeship you will develop a range of knowledge, skills and behaviours, including strategy, innovation and change, leading and developing people, finance, judgement and challenge and valuing difference.

The apprenticeship will be delivered against the nationally recognised Level 7 Senior Leader Masters Degree Apprenticeship Standard and on successful completion of the programme and EPA activities participants will gain the MBA and professional body recognition alongside the apprenticeship.

The apprenticeship will typically take two and a half years to complete (including the End-Point Assessment) although each student will be different dependant on previous experience.

Entry requirements

You will need to be in employment where your line manager is able to support you through the apprenticeship - Individual employers will set the selection criteria for their Apprenticeships and employment role. Most candidates will have an honours degree, A levels (or equivalent) and English, Maths and ICT at Level 2 (where approved English and Maths qualifications are not held these will need to be completed during the apprenticeship programme).

Other relevant or prior experience may also be considered as an alternative alongside consideration of the suitability of the role being undertaken and the opportunities to develop and apply the required knowledge, skills and behaviours at a suitability high/senior level.

Successful apprentices will have the option to apply for professional recognition as Chartered Managers / Fellows and Members of the Chartered Management Institute (CMgr FCMI) and/or as a member of the Institute for Leadership & Management or other relevant professional body.

Fees & Finance

Costs may be covered by government funding and/or your employer – employers who pay the Apprenticeship Levy will pay fees directly through the levy contribution.

Alternatively, businesses who do not pay the Levy will be able to claim 95% of the cost of tuition fees from the Government.
