Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure that the University’s conditions of entry are met. In order for us to complete the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) application, your offer with us has to be Unconditional Firm (UF) which means you have no outstanding conditions and you have chosen Bishop Grosseteste University as the university where you will be studying in the UK. Following this UF status, a CAS application will be made to the Home Office to start off the visa process.

Bank or building society requirements – the account you provide can be in your name, or in your parents’ or a legal guardian’s name only.

If your parent or legal guardian is sponsoring your studies and therefore using their financial information, they must also provide a written declaration (in English or officially translated into English) confirming:

  • their relationship to you
  • you have access to the funds
  • the funds will be available to pay for your studies

Your parent or legal guardian is required to provide an official financial document showing the required sum of funds have been available for a minimum of 28 consecutive days prior to your visa application. An original official document (e.g. birth certificate) confirming the relationship between you and your parent or legal guardian needs to be enclosed.

Unfortunately, you are not allowed to use money held in any other person’s name.

You must be able to demonstrate that the required amount has been available to you for a minimum of 28 consecutive days (finishing on the date of the closing balance) ending no more than 31 days before your application.

Your personal bank or building society statement must show:

  • your name or your parent(s)/legal guardians name; and
  • the account number; and
  • the date of statement; and
  • the financial institution’s name and logo; and
  • the amount of money available.

By making Bishop Grosseteste University your Unconditional Firm choice, you are aware of your responsibility to abide by the conditions of your Tier 4 visa, including your obligation to study at your sponsor institution, your working restrictions and that you will leave the UK when your visa expires unless you have obtained further valid leave. If your visa application is unsuccessful, you will need a new CAS number to re-apply. Before a new CAS number can be assigned, you will need to email a scanned copy of your refusal notice to the University’s Admissions Office at admissions@bishopg.ac.uk. We will then confirm whether a new CAS can be assigned. If a new CAS is assigned, you should use this new number when you re-apply for a visa.

The tuition fees will be £12,850 GBP for the first year of your course if you are joining a postgraduate course, and £11,820 GBP for the first year of your course if you are joining an undergraduate course.
