Situated in the heart of historic Lincoln, Bishop Grosseteste University (BGU) has been a bustling hive of education and culture for over 150 years.

In the last year, as well as the exciting discoveries being made on our courses, BGU has played host to terrifying monsters, enjoyed performances from side-splitting comedians and delved into the fascinating history of Medieval England.

To put it simply, there is always something happening here at BGU and the next 12 months are packed with even more events that promise to delight and inspire.

Dan Hadfield as Gary Barlow – 22nd March 2019

Dan Hadfield is unquestionably the best and most authentic Gary Barlow tribute artiste in the entertainment industry, as well as one of the most sought-after acts in the UK. Recommended and highly-praised by the Take That front man himself, Dan has also performed with Gary and tours his tribute show all over the world.

An Evening with Peggy Knight – 25th April 2019

Don’t miss this chance to see the world renowned Lesley Smith return to the Venue for an evening with Peggy Knight.

In 1944 a young woman was parachuted into Nazi occupied France. She was a member of SOE and had only received two weeks training and one practice parachute jump. Her story of immense courage and dignity in the face of the most dangerous of situations is both breath-taking and remarkable.

Peggy’s story is little known but now is the time to find her. An ordinary woman who you would pass in the street without a second glance, but she was extraordinary, as you will discover.

Tickets are £8 per person and can be purchased here.

The Story of the Tower of London with Tracy Borman – 30th May 2019

Following Tracy’s sell out talk on Elizabeth’s Women, we are delighted that she will return to BGU to deliver a talk on The Story of the Tower of London.

In this illustrated talk Dr Tracy Borman will explore some of the fascinating stories behind one of Britain’s most iconic buildings. The Tower of London was not just the backdrop, but the lead actor in some of the most momentous events of our history.  Exploring the stories of its 950-year history reveals a dazzling cast of characters, from the well-known (such as Anne Boleyn, Sir Walter Raleigh and the Princes in the Tower) to the more unexpected (spies, jewel thieves and polar bears).

Tickets are £8.00 each and can be purchased here.
