Senior Lecturer in Teacher Development (Primary)

Maxine leads the undergraduate school placement modules on the BA Primary Education with QTS and Primary Teaching Studies programmes. She joined Bishop Grosseteste University in 2013 as a Senior Lecturer in Primary Education.  Prior to this Maxine was a successful Primary Headteacher and a Local Leader of Education.  In this role she worked with the Lincolnshire School Improvement Service and the National Collage of Teaching and Learning to support and develop Senior Leaders’ key skills in Leadership and Management.

Teaching

Maxine teaches on the undergraduate Primary Education with QTS and Primary Teaching Studies programmes. Her subject teaching interests include Primary Science, and history.  She also teaches aspects of assessment and subject leadership skills.

Research

Maxine’s most recent research focussed on the use of video enhanced observation to develop classroom presence in early initial teacher education.

Consultancy and Projects

Maxine works with a group of headteachers who are developing approaches to assessment without levels.
