Senior Lecturer (Primary)

Angela joined BGU in August 2015, after two years as the primary manager for a nationwide teacher training company. Angela managed a programme which led to QTS/PGCE for approximately 90 students nationally. Angela worked for Lincolnshire County Council/CfBT from 2008 to 2013 as an Early Years Consultant working with local schools and settings on improving provision and raising standards for young children. Angela was also an area SENCo for a small group of nurseries in Lincolnshire within this role. Angela also taught for eight years in a large primary school, leading Literacy across the school.

Teaching

Angela will be contributing to a range of programmes within Teacher development, including both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Angela also supports on the PGCE with EYTS programme. She has particular interests in the transition from the EYFS to KS1, assessment within Early Years Provision and provision for mixed age classes (EYFS/KS1). She is also interested in Literacy development, with a focus on language and special educational needs.

Research

Angela has an MA (Ed) and focused on language learning and English across different social contexts. She also has a PGCE (Primary) and EYPS which built on a first degree in English.
