Aimee is the Head of Programmes for Primary and Early Years Teacher Development. She works across the postgraduate and undergraduate teacher training programmes with some of the most interesting and exciting people on Earth!
Previously, Aimee was a primary teacher for 12 years, working in every year group from Nursery to Year 6. She was an Early Years Leader at a large village primary school in Lincolnshire, as well as working across the Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and 2 in a school in Nottingham.
Aimee has an MSc in Education Leadership, her dissertation was about reflection strategies and using learning journals in primary classrooms. She is currently studying for a doctorate at Sheffield Hallam University, researching the experiences and career choices of women returning to teaching after maternity leave. Aimee’s research interests include; teacher careers and life stories, using narratives and broader issues around gender in schools. Her curriculum interests are Art and Design, English, Phonics, and the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Aimee also enjoys astronomy, ghost stories and knitting.
