BA (Hons) TESOL and Linguistics is a three-year full time course designed for aspiring teachers or individuals who wish to pursue a career in working with learners of English as an additional, second or foreign language. It is ideal for students from all academic backgrounds as there are no subject specific entry requirements other than GCSE English.
It will provide you with the academic knowledge, practical skills and professional experience required for a future in English language teaching and further study in the field of linguistics. Taught modules will provide the opportunity for you to consider and develop your own understanding of how languages are learnt, used and taught in multicultural communities across the globalized world.
Further opportunities will be provided throughout the three years to allow reflection upon your own professional development and to critically explore and conduct your own research in the field of linguistics.
|YOU WILL NORMALLY NEED 96 -112 UCAS TARIFF POINTS (FROM A MAXIMUM OF FOUR ADVANCED LEVEL QUALIFICATIONS). GCSE English at Grade C or above.

In addition, all students will need to pay £57.20 for an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). A successful Enhanced Disclosure is required before commencing the course.

Accreditation for Prior Learning
If you’ve recently completed or studied a particular module as part of a previous qualification, this may mean that you’re not required to undertake a particular module of your BGU course. However this must be agreed in writing and you must apply for this.
