This is a joint honours degree, which allows you to study 50% of your course in Education Studies and 50% in Special Educational Needs & Inclusion.
Our Education Studies course will provide you with an excellent understanding of education in its widest sense, nationally and globally, and is a great choice if you are interested in a career in teaching or are thinking about working in other education-related areas. It will provide you with a deep and reflective knowledge and understanding of contemporary issues in education, directly related to everyday practice. Special Educational Needs & Inclusion can be a fascinating, challenging and emotional subject to study, and it will most definitely be rewarding. Throughout this course, you will find out about special educational provision, tackle discrimination, and understand how to meet the needs of different groups across society. You will challenge your own beliefs and values, as well as those of others – and become an advocate for change, making a difference to the lives of others. In addition, all students will need to pay £57.20 for an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). A successful Enhanced Disclosure is required before commencing the course.

If you’ve recently completed or studied a particular module as part of a previous qualification, this may mean that you’re not required to undertake a particular module of your BGU course. However this must be agreed in writing and you must apply for this.
