Statement of Public Task by Bishop Grosseteste University Library
This statement sets out the functions carried out by Bishop Grosseteste University Library that are within our public task under the Re-use of Public Sector Information Regulations 2015.
The core role and function of Bishop Grosseteste University Library is to meet the needs of the university community by facilitating access to high quality learning resources, learning spaces and user support. We operate within the context of the University’s Corporate Strategy and Regulatory Framework.
Our public task comprises all the functions, duties and responsibilities set out in our mission statement. Services for external library members and members of the public fall outside of this remit and therefore the scope of the Re-use of Public Sector Information Regulations 2015.
Material held in Bishop Grosseteste University Library and covered by our Collections Management Policy falls within the public task, and is therefore available for re-use under the Regulations, provided no copyright or other third-party rights apply.
The University Archive is separate to the University Library and, as such, materials held by the University Archive do not fall within our public task.
The majority of the data we use is collected centrally by Bishop Grosseteste University; under the Re-use of Public Sector Information Regulations 2015 the University is not required to make this data available for re-use. To obtain copies of personal data, or other recorded information held by Bishop Grosseteste University, please submit a Data Protection or Freedom of Information request.
This statement is regularly reviewed.
