When applying for a job it is essential to make sure that your application form, personal statements and CV are displaying your skills, qualifications and experience clearly and effectively. We have a number of ways we can help support you through these processes.
Student Resource Centre
Our Student Resource Centre, located in the Hardy Building, is designed to provide you with information including on applying for jobs or further study. It houses a wide range of books, factsheets and magazines – some of which can be loaned out or are free for you to take away. We encourage you to come and see us in the Hardy Building at any point in your BGU journey. Our Careers Advisors can help you with creating and checking your CV, as well as advice on improving your personal statement or covering letter. To book an appointment, just email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Application forms are used by employers as an easy way to compare candidates. The employer will usually provide a job description and person specification which will show the qualifications, skills and experience required for the job. Understanding the requirements and demonstrating your skills are key to producing a successful application. This Fact Sheet will take you through the most common types of applications and how best to demonstrate your suitability for roles.
