The BG Employability Award essentially rewards you for the efforts that you put into building your own skills portfolio. With the overall aim of helping you to be fully competent for the work environment when you graduate, it will help you gain work experience and allow you to explore your options when you come to plan for your future career.
You will earn points by participating in additional work experience, volunteering, part-time and vacation work, attending relevant employability award workshops and lectures, and taking part in on-campus activities. You will also be encouraged to reflect on your experience to date – a vital skill for completing your CV or job application.
Employers and Employees
Employers often complain that graduates come to them without even basic skills needed in the modern workplace. Taking part in the BG Employability Award will help build your skills and experience so that you stand out from the crowd as someone who is ready to work. You will demonstrate that you not only have the skills required in your area of study but that you also have transferable knowledge and understanding suitable to the workplace. By achieving the BG Employability Award will demonstrate that you are self-aware, motivated and ready for life past education.
