Fairtrade

Overview | 5 Fairtrade Guarantees | Fairtrade Statement | Bake-Off 2013

Overview

Bishop Grosseteste University and its Students' Union are committed to working together to make the University's community more ethically aware of the issues of Fairtrade.

Fairtrade ensures livelihoods of producers from the developing world are protected. It guarantees the producers a fair price for their products, and offers protection for their income against the financial pressures of international trade.

The University and the SU have been awarded Fairtrade status as a indication to this commitment and therefore commits to supporting, using and promoting Fairtrade. In achieving this status we met the goals set out by the Fairtrade Foundation, an independent organisation that administers the Fairtrade mark. These goals have been set out in our Fairtrade statement.
