Looking outwards: enlarging hearts and minds

Chaplaincy also seeks to help individuals and the BG community recognise our shared responsibility for those less fortunate than ourselves, as well as a personal responsibility to have our own eyes and hearts opened more fully to the needs and gifts of others. We offer opportunities to be involved in charitable and volunteering activities at certain times of the year, as well as to raise money and to show our concern and support at times of natural disaster, humanitarian crises, to engage in the work of Amnesty International etc.

In recent years we have raised money for Macmillan Cancer support, the Japanese Earthquake & Tsunami Appeal, the Children’s Society, Water Aid, Oxfam, Meningitis UK, Womankind, British Heart Foundation, Amnesty International.
