Supporting Bishop Grosseteste University:
Since its foundation, Bishop Grosseteste University has had a long history of engaging with philanthropy. Many of the original Victorian buildings were paid for with the aid of fundraising and donations by students, former students and staff (e.g. the Chapel in the early 1870s and the tiled floors in the main building, then known as Nelson Building, at the turn of the last century). As the University continues to grow and develop in the 21st Century, there are a number of fundraising challenges ahead. On these pages you can find out more about the various projects already underway but do come back often as we have some exciting plans for the future.
Bishop Grosseteste University is committed to its students and to providing them with the best facilities, resources, and higher education experience possible. Donations to the Foundation are used to support a wide range of projects across the University, from supporting students to improving the facilities and built environment of the campus.
Each One Counts
Bishop Grosseteste University has teamed up with Each One Counts to recycle, where possible, laser print cartridges, inkjet cartridges and mobile phones. For every item that is recycled, a donation will be made to charity, including the BG Generations Foundation Fund.
The BG Generations Foundation Fund supports students undertaking voluntary work across the globe. In recent years this has included a school building programme in Kenya, teaching orphans in Nepal and working with HIV infected children in South Africa. In this way, are students make a positive contribution to communities around the world and in return, gain valuable life skills that they can then transfer into their future careers.
