Mission Statement

Library Services is committed to providing a high quality library and information service which reflects and responds to the needs of its users.

To support this mission statement, and that of the University, we will ...

Provide and maintain up-to-date, high quality learning resources in close liaison with academic staff; Provide an efficient, friendly service to our users; Be proactive in seeking and responding to user feedback; Strive to continually develop and enhance Library collections, services and facilities via regular monitoring, evaluation and review; Offer effective guidance and instruction to enable users to search for, retrieve and evaluate information; Maintain a learning environment which is both welcoming and conducive to study; Actively promote Library collections, services and facilities to our users; Provide accessible facilities for all users; Identify and undertake appropriate training and development activities to maintain and develop high standards of professional practice; Ensure that the development of Library collections reflects the diversity of the society in which we live; Actively participate in local and regional library & information networks.
