Mapping 150 Years of BG Teaching

Put your school on the BG map

To help celebrate 150 years since BG was founded as the Lincoln Training School, we want to create a graphic record of the impact the institution has had over the years and so we are working to create a map showing all the schools we can find out about who have benefitted from BG trained teachers.

With more than 15,000 teachers trained at BG over the last 150 years, and many of those teaching in at least 2 or 3 schools during the course of their career, that's a lot of schools! We already know that that this will be a school map – throughout our history, alumni of BG have taken their skills across the world. The archives tell us that in 1900, for example, there were BG trained teachers working in Seoul and in South Africa, a tradition of adventure our current graduates continue to follow.

To complete the map, we need your help. Just let us know the names, and if possible the street addresses of the schools where you have taught since leaving BG and we’ll create a pin on our interactive map. We know that schools have been renamed and reorganised many times over the years, so if you do know the current name of the school, it would be great if you could tell us that too.

If your child, grandchild, neighbour or friend is being taught by, or has a BG teacher at their school, let us know, and we’d love to invite them to be 'on the map' too!
