Introduction

"I've really enjoyed my time mentoring a young person in care - it's been enlightening and fun. It gave me a chance to get to know a young person who has been let down many times, and just one good experience can help them change. It amazing to know that you can improve someone’s life so easily"

Volunteering while you’re at BG can give you a whole range of new experiences and insights - as well as being great fun! You could work alongside other students, or get to know people from the local community. You’ll certainly find it challenging, but also really rewarding.

From one-off environmental activities to longer term involvement with young people, children, prisoners and their families, there’s something for you. Get involved in campaigning for something you’re passionate about, commit yourself long-term or just for a one-off event. We can help you find the right opportunity and support you to get started. And it’s usually possible to fit your volunteering round other university and family commitments.
