BG Touring

Introduction

BG Touring is an innovative, enterprising venture established and run by second year drama students of Bishop Grosseteste University. It was founded originally to provide students with the unique and invaluable experience of being involved in the running of a professional structure, from managing director and fundraising officers through to stage hands and technical staff.

Bishop Grosseteste University has two very successful drama degree programmes, from which students feed into BG Touring Theatre Company: 'Drama in the Community' and 'Education Studies and Drama'. Students are encouraged to work in innovative and experimental ways throughout their courses, inevitably seizing opportunities to take their work into the community.

This has included working in the magnificent and world-famous Lincoln Cathedral, running workshops for school children, prison inmates and many others. Involvement in BG Touring is therefore a natural progression in both the students' academic and personal development.
