Give a Little Back

As one of our alumni you may feel you want to give a little back to BG. This might be financial, or it might be by way of support in other ways. We value and appreciate any involvement our alumni has with the University and as such have a number of suggested ways in which you can help.

Alumni Ambassador Scheme

A really great way to give something back to BG would be by joining our Alumni Ambassador Scheme. Run in a similar way to our Student Ambassador Programme (STAMP), this scheme allows you, our alumni, to get involved.

Assistance at Open Days

If you’re still living in and around the Lincoln area why not volunteer to help at one of our Open Days. You will be showing potential students and their parents/guardians around campus, sharing your experiences and knowledge about BG and how your degree has helped you in your chosen career.

Mentoring Scheme

We want to encourage our alumni to use their experience to the benefit of our current students. Our mentoring initiative aims to connect graduates and students of all ages and experiences. As a mentor you will help current students find out about your work environment, career, and your experience here at BG by answering simple questions via email or a quick telephone call.

Guest Lectures

Occasionally the University looks for professional people to come and talk to students, staff and members if the public about their educational experiences, professional area of interest, or career.

BG Generations Year Group Representative

To help strengthen our relationship with our BG Generations members, we want to recruit some alumni year group representatives. As a year group rep you will be in charge of spreading the good word of BG to as many people from your year group as possible. Alongside the Alumni Office, year group reps will be able to help promote and implement plans for events such as reunions.

Supplying a Testimonial

No doubt you had some amazing experiences during your time at BG and since graduating. We’re eager to hear your stories, and we’re sure fellow graduates and friends are too so why not submit an article for publication in our alumni magazine, BG Talk.

Financial Support

A gift to Bishop Grossesteste University is an investment for our current and future students. Every donation you make, whatever its size, will make a huge difference. Your support is vitally important to the future whether it be a donation you make today or a donation you plan to give in the future. Please see the Support BG section for more details.

Fundraising Initiatives

We invite you to assist us in our fundraising initiatives. If you can think of a fun and unique way of raising funds, or have experienced a fundraising event which has been successful, we welcome and appreciate your input. You can also contribute by joining in with the fundraising events already planned to take place, and contributing to these initiatives is always welcome. For more information please see the Support BG section of the website.
