Membership
Students of Bishop Grosseteste University receive a University ID card at registration. This doubles as a library card. For more information about ID cards click here. You must have your library card with you to be able to borrow resources and you may only borrow books with your own library card. For information about how many items you can borrow click here.
SCONUL Access members are entitled to borrow up to eight items at a time. To join our library speak to a member of staff at the Service Desk: you will be asked to show your SCONUL Access card or confirmation email (issued by the library at your home institution) and to provide a passport-size photograph of yourself. Students from other colleges who offer qualifications validated by Bishop Grosseteste University are entitled to join our library for the duration of their studies and may borrow up to eight items at a time. To join our library speak to a member of staff at the Service Desk: please bring with you the library card issued by your college and a passport-size photograph of yourself.
Ordained members of the clergy are entitled to free, lifelong membership of our library with a borrowing entitlement of up to eight items. This category of membership does not extend to lay clergy. To join our library speak to a member of staff at the Service Desk: you will be asked to provide a passport-size photograph of yourself.
Students of the School of Theology and Ministry Studies are entitled to free membership of our library for the duration of their studies and may borrow up to eight items at a time. To join our library you will need to provide a a passport-size photograph of yourself and evidence that you are currently a student of the School of Theology and Ministry Studies.
People studying with CfBT or EM Direct are only entitled to free membership of our library if, as part of their CfBT or EM Direct course, they are enrolled on a module/modules run by the University's Professional Development in Education (PDE) department.
University alumni and members of BG Generations are entitled to lifelong membership of our library and may borrow up to eight items at a time upon payment of a £50 deposit. Alumni members may terminate their library membership and have their deposit refunded at any time upon request. To join the library speak to a member of staff at the Service Desk: you will be asked to provide a passport-size photograph of yourself.
Members of the public are entitled to use our library for reference purposes. We only ask that you make yourself known to us when you visit. In addition, members of the public may join the library, with a borrowing entitlement of up to eight items, for an annual fee of £50. To join the library speak to a member of staff at the Service Desk: you will be asked to provide a passport-size photograph of yourself. |
