Events are a large part of life here at the university and we believe that our entertainment, lectures and debates should be open for everyone to enjoy and join in with. We host a wide range of events though out the year so we are sure there is something for everyone. We hope to see you soon!
Make sure to download the latest edition of our events programme and news magazine BG&You for articles, dates for the diary and a way to stay tuned with the university and its activities.
Human Scale Education is an education reform movement committed to small scale learning communities based on the values of democracy, justice and respect. HSE works directly with schools and parents to promote human scale learning environments where children and young people are known and valued as individuals. HSE believes that “humanity of scale” and the “primacy of relationships” should not only inform the design of our schools but should also influence our public sector services.
HSE in the East Midlands
Although active members of HSE have lived and worked in the East Midlands for many years, the first local HSE conference was only held last year, on 6th May 2016 at Bishop Grosseteste University, under the heading Transitions. The event attracted huge interest, and resulted in the establishment of a local planning group and further networking and support activities. This is the second of what we hope might become an annual joint BGU-HSE conference.
Our Keynote Speakers:
