Get Involved

There are a number of ways in which you can remain involved and give a little back to BG as alumni.

Alumni Ambassador Scheme

Run in a similar way to our Student Ambassador Programme (STAMP), there are a number of alumni ambassador opportunities, including:

Assistance at Open Days
If you’re still living in and around the Lincoln area why not volunteer to help at one of our Open Days? You'll be showing potential students and their parents/guardians around campus, sharing your experiences and knowledge of BGU and how your degree has helped you in your chosen career. Please click here for details on our upcoming Open Days.

Mentoring Scheme
Our mentoring initiative aims to connect graduates to students of all ages and experiences. As a mentor you will help current students find out about your current work environment, career and your experience here at BGU by answering questions via email or a quick telephone call. There is also the opportunity, if you have enough free time, to meet one-to-one with any student you are mentoring.

Guest Lectures
Occasionally we look for professional people to come and talk to our students about their educational experiences, professional area of interest, or career. Who better to ask to than our very own graduates?

Individual Careers Support
Our Careers, Employability and Enterprise Team are always interested to hear from alumni who are willing to provide support to our current students. This might be in the form of interview workshops, CV clinics or job search techniques.

For further information on any of these opportunities, please contact our Alumni Office on alumni@bishopg.ac.uk.

BG Generations Alumni Committee

We are creating a BG Generations Alumni Committee which would meet 3-4 times a year and would explore the ways in which BGU can further support our Alumni. With having a large Alumni community, we want to have all years and occupations represented in order to help us gain a greater perspective into what it is our Alumni want from their Alumni Association and how we can support in the widest possible manner.

If you would like more information about the committee, please contact the Alumni Office on alumni@bishopg.ac.uk or call 01522 583609.

Fundraising for the Foundation Fund

Alumni can support fundraising in a variety of ways, including:

  • Attending Events
Including the BGSU Fringe, Bollywood Evenings and special charity evenings
  • Donating
Every donation you make, whatever its size, will make a huge difference
  • Completing your Own Fundraising Initiative
Thought of a fun and unique way of raising funds, or have experiences of a fundraising event which has been successful? We welcome and appreciate your input. If you would like to run a fundraising event for the BG Foundation Fund or a charity of your choosing, this is also possible.

For more information about the Foundation Fund, including how Alumni can access the fund, click here and to make a donation or supporting a fundraising initiative please contact our Alumni office on alumni@bishopg.ac.uk.
