Teaching & Learning Academy

Teaching and Learning Academy logoBishop Grosseteste University College Lincoln is the East Midlands regional centre for the re-launched and enhanced Teaching and Learning Academy (TLA). The enhanced scheme provides a CPD and PPD validation framework for the whole school and college workforce as well as others involved in children's services. This includes teaching assistants, youth workers and other professionals.

It will provide both structure and support for professional development and can lead to accreditation across the range from foundation degree (level 4) to masters degree (level 7). The Teaching & Learning Academy is designed to offer learning opportunities and national recognition for staff working in schools, colleges and children's services at all career stages, while giving a framework for professional development that supports a range of initiatives.

The TLA framework will enable verified centres to develop a researched based whole institution approach to staff development. It encourages networking with others and can provide resources and expertise in supporting professional development across the institution.

The framework is designed to support developments in pedagogy for teachers and aspects of leadership in all institutions and can be used alongside other programmes.

Individual membership is available for those who wish to use the scheme outside a verified institution.
