Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde: I came to Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde in the Spring 2010 season, the narrative was really exciting, it was a show not to be missed. I'm so glad I saw it! - Sophie Newlan
The Bishop Greaves Theatre is set within the Bishop Grosseteste University College campus to the north of Lincoln, on the fringe of the historic and cultural quarters of the city. It is a performance venue very much on the rise, with a growing range of facilities and an audience capacity of 230 people. Most of all, you will find a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
There has never been a better time to support your local theatre, so why not find out What's On this season and try it out. We are passionate about giving you a top quality venue, so whilst you're having a browse around the website, please feel free to Get In Touch and share your thoughts with us. WE'RE HERE for you.
Auditorium and Stage We have a really good sized stage; this is supported by an audience capacity of 230 on fixed rake seating, which gives excellent visibility. In August 2010 we upgraded our lighting desk, purchased some new lights and a back of house communications system to keep our facilities up to date. Community groups and schools regularly use the theatre for their showcases, and we have a strong programme of professional theatre companies visiting the BG stage each season.
Theatre Studio This is a versatile studio that can be used for rehearsals, as a green room or as a performance space in its own right. Black tab curtains enclose the studio, it has its own lighting and sound gallery and can be fitted with a portable raked seating for an audience of 50 people.
Foyer Bar Our foyer bar has a warm and inviting atmosphere, complete with a box office, cloakroom and fully staffed bar. The bar has benefited from a recent refurbishment, giving it a sophisticated and relaxed atmosphere, and the space lends itself very well to private parties and intimate performance showcases.
Performing Arts Studio Also known as the dance studio, this room comprises of a full scale mirrored wall, professional dance floor, and black tab curtains to all walls. It is ideal for movement workshops and team building exercises, where a lot of space is needed.
