Welcome to the Centre for Education for Social Justice (C4E4SJ) at Bishop Grosseteste University College Lincoln.

Aims

  • To promote education for social justice;
  • To consider issues of justice and equality in communities at all levels;
  • To develop an awareness of issues in communities by listening to diverse groups;
  • To act as a facilitator by supporting groups in developing their own practice.

Mission

The Centre's mission is to relate theory and practice and to provide support for groups and individuals seeking to explore and promote equality in all its forms in their own communities and wider society.

Events

Each year there will be a key-note lecture, entitled The Caroline Benn Memorial Lecture, in honour of the life achievements of socialist educationist, the late Caroline Benn. There will also be other events, including seminars.

Membership

Membership of the Centre is open to all those engaging with issues relating to social justice as practitioners, writers or researchers. Members will receive invitations to events organised and hosted by the Centre.
