Overview

A warm welcome to the PGCE Secondary programme at Bishop Grosseteste University College Lincoln. The course was established in 2001 and its creation and continued development reflects best practice in full-time training, in partnership and in choice of school.

The PGCE Secondary course lasts for one academic year, and is a full time course which prepares graduates to teach across the 11 - 16 age range in their specialist subject, with post-16 enhancement. Trainees are assessed on their practical teaching skills at Key Stages 3 and 4 but also gain the opportunity to experience KS5 and/or a range of other 14-19 courses whilst at our partner schools.

We offer the following subjects:

The secondary PGCE programme includes a Masters level option for suitably qualified candidates. Successful completion of the course will result in a recommendation for Qualified Teacher Status, as well as either the Professional Graduate Certificate in Education or the Post-Graduate Certificate in Education.
