Debate one of the most exciting and controversial subjects: Education. Complement this with one of the most important curriculum areas: Geography. Together you have a popular, flexible and rewarding combination that provides a superb, in depth and reflective preparation for a career in education or teaching without committing you to a particular age group or area.
Education Studies
This has pathways through it for those wanting to pursue careers in primary, secondary, post 16 and informal educational settings. If you aren't sure what sector you want to work in yet, then you can sample them all!
Geography
Geography at BG offers you a wide range of modules in human, physical and environmental studies. The content will prepare you for teaching in primary and secondary schools. In addition, graduates with geography qualifications are highly employable in other fields of work.
Our department has close links with the Geographical Association. This website tells you more about becoming a geography teacher.
