Professional Development in Education

Since its inception, Professional Development in Education (PDE) has drawn on a wealth of teaching experience at Bishop Grosseteste University College to offer professional development courses to a wide variety of educators. Our clients include Newly Qualified teachers, Early Years professionals, School Improvement officers and many others.

We are committed to providing a full range of courses, conferences and consultancies for all those who work in education. To see more details of our short courses please see our Continuing Professional Development pages. Most of our courses can be used to work towards a Masters level qualification. We offer a Certificate and Diploma of Professional Studies in Education and also the MA in Education. These courses are all modular; for further details please click on the links to the left.

Postgraduate Certificate & Diploma of Professional Studies in Education
A combination of taught sessions and supported workplace-based study allows you to add qualifications to your professional development portfolio while focusing on improving your own work in the setting. All credits are at Masters level and can be used towards an MA.

MA in Education
The MA programme has been designed to sustain flexible advanced study through weekend modules. The full course extends over two years, followed by supervised dissertation preparation. The transfer of credits from previous qualifications, including NPQH, can shorten your route to an MA.

Bespoke Courses
We can also design a bespoke PG Cert, PG Dip or MA course, tailored to the requirements of your group.

Contact us - for details of any of our courses please contact the PDE office on pde@bishopg.ac.uk or 01522 583753.
